Reviewing Sonar Log Charts

I want to share something for Lowrance users who have computer mapping software. I play my sonar chart logs in the Emulator on one computer and connect it to another computer with a serial connector. The Emulator exports the NMEA to my mapping programs (LakeMaster or Fugawi) and you can see your position on the mapping program while the sonar chart is playing. It even leaves trails on the mapping software! I use this to review sonar logs in the winter and make new waypoints on stuff that I missed. I stare at my sonar on the water but I have found that I miss fish. This is bad! But now I can go back and check those spots next year. If there are fish there once, they will return. If you need help setting this up, call Warren Parsons 651.982.1401. He is willing to give advice. Warren is my tech support and makes maps for my Fugawi mapping software. LakeMaster has accurate surveyed maps of lakes. 800.540.5747 or www.lakemaps.com
