LakeMaster
produces high quality surveyed lake maps that you can purchase
as a paper map, chip for your Lowrance, or as mapping software.
This example is from LakeMaster’s survey of Winnibigoshish
Lake in Minnesota. I use the paper maps and the software to prepare
for my fishing trips and tournaments. I use the LakeMaster chips
in my Lowrance GPS when I am on the water to find the structure
I had previously located with my planning.

Fugawi
Fugawi software allows use of many types of maps. I use Fugawi
to display aerial photos, LIDAR, topographic maps of reservoirs,
and any map that will help me catch more fish. Reservoirs have
fluctuating water levels and aerial images during low water show
amazing structure. You can create waypoints using Fugawi and transfer
them to your Lowrance and drive to the spot!
The first example is what I call a hybrid map. It has topographic
contours overlaid a reservoir during low water. The islands are
usually covered by water.
The
next example is called LIDAR and the quality is amazing. The data
was collected during low water on Lake Oahe, SD. The normal pool
level is 1610; Brown is land, red 1600-1610, green 1595-1600,
yellow 1590-1595, orange 1585-1590, blue 1580-1585, and purple
1575-1580. Do you think I want the water level to rise?
