LakeMaster Shaded Relief Preview

LakeMaster has new chips for 2010 designed to use the HDS shaded relief features of the insight models. The view is amazing when you use it with a LakeMaster high definition map. The first map is from Cut Foot Sioux which is connected to Lake Winnibigoshish, MN. I have the contours turned off so the 3D like picture is easily seen. I have fished this lake and those little points and bumps are there.

Next I turned on the depth lines

As you zoom in the shaded relief will disappear and you will only see depth lines.

You disable the depth lines in chart menu, categories, water, depth contours.

Solid Electronics Mount

I finally have a solid electronics mount for the bow Lowrance 113. I have used many different mounts but they fall over when I pound waves. If they fall over without you noticing, you can damage the screen. I now use a Bert’s Custom Tackle mount that is 12 inched high. I actually had an amateur contestant in a draw tournament fall on it while pulling the anchor and it didn’t break.

I prefer my electronics high so I can read them easily and it is easier to reach the buttons on windy days.

SUSPENSION SEATS

I use Smooth Moves suspension seats because of my age and my spine. The decision on how long I will fish tournaments hopefully will be based on my desire not a painful spine. I have had minor set backs fishing tournaments because of my neck and back. Professional Walleye tournaments are brutal because of the large bodies of water we fish. I run wide open as much as I can because one minute can mean one fish and the difference between first and fifth. The Smooth Moves suspension has a shock absorber cylinder plus 4 sets of springs. You can adjust the tension so you never "bottom out".

I did not get the Minn Kota i-Pilot this year but I read reviews and product information and I want one for my style of fishing. I hope it works as well as I think it will s this is a great idea. I will post my review after I have tested it thoroughly. My order is in!
