Major advances in creating depth contour maps
We all want high definition depth maps since LakeMaster and Navionics showed us the value. But all the lakes we fish have not been mapped! I have briefly covered this on my Mapping Info page but DrDepth has made some major improvements to make it easy to create a LakeMaster like map for your Lowrance/Eagle GPS like example 1.

We all want this map when we fish a spot but there are 2 big questions, how much does it cost and how difficult is it? I can make this map in 30 seconds after I have collected the data using DrDepth ($110).

DrDepth now performs all the steps to make a Lowrance map. The developer of the program has responded to my requests to make this process easy for my mapping students. I teach the value of mapping at my mapping class and they want the easiest method to create maps.
There are 5 steps to make a Lowrance map with DrDepth.
- Collect data with your Lowrance/Eagle GPS using the log chart data feature.http://www.hightechfishing.com/session1.html
- DrDepth will convert and open these files
- Create the map in DrDepth
- Export the LCM map and copy the file to a blank SD card
- Place the card in your Lowrance and select map data and then select Lowrance as the Map Dataset Choice
DrDepth also has a new feature that creates map files of each spot and you can add many different spots together to make one map card with all your maps as shown in example 2. This example is from my last tournament at Wabigoon of some reefs that I fished. Of course I zoom in when I get to the reef.

Maps are just another tool to help you catch more and bigger fish
